With three international airports in the state of Kerala, travel is easy and convenient. We do not book your flights as part of the houseboat package but are always pleased to advise you on making the best and cheapest arrangements.

The easiest route from the UK is to fly directly to Cochin (Kochi) where we'll arrange for you to be met and driven to our backwaters HQ, the fascinating town of Alleppey. The journey is just one hour by taxi, and our driver will charge you a reasonable set fare.

If more convenient, you can fly into Trivandrum which is a 2-3 hour taxi ride away. From here you can also make your way to Alleppey by train, with tickets pre-booked by us.

 

We are also able to arrange all other elements of your trip to Kerala. If you decide to spend a day or two in Alleppey, our local team can book good hotels at any price level. A stay here is immensely rewarding. This colourful, friendly, bustling town provides an authentic taste of India without the incessant noise and hassle of big cities like Delhi or Mumbai. We can also organise a personal guide for sightseeing and shopping in the town where you can pick up wonderful bargains in made-to-measure tailoring of the highest quality.

And if you'd like to experience Kerala's idyllic beachlife before you return home, we can book you into a recommended hotel in or around the town of Varkala. This is also a wonderful location for relaxing Ayurvedic therapies and massage.
